For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.
Have you ever heard one of God’s commandment and felt a funny stirring in your chest?
He expects unselfish love, righteousness and complete obedience to Him at whatever cost. In a world that sustains a vicious hatred for all He stands for, these tasks seem daunting and unachievable.
But then you hear and read about people, past and present, who are doing His will under impossible circumstances. It’s all in a day’s work for them, and they get blessed for it.
Pressure mounts. Willingness becomes struggle, and the inevitable failure of beginning something new creates an overwhelming sense of inadequacy.
It’s the ‘not enough’ mentality, and so many of us are caught up in it. We feel like constant disappointments to God.
This couldn’t be farther from how He feels.
Dear believer, the whole of Heaven rejoiced when you surrendered your life to Christ. You responded and now you’re chosen. Understand that God doesn’t make bad choices.
He knew about the challenges right from the onset, so He promised to hold your hand through it all. You need to believe this with all your heart. Trust Him relentlessly.
Also understand that you’re surrounded by inexhaustible resources to help you obey. His Word, sermons, songs, books and other godly contents. Leverage on them and grow into His will.
Don’t be scared of failure. Just be ready to dust yourself and get back on track with Him. Never give up. All God needs is your cooperation. Leave the rest to Him.
You are special beyond expression to the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Quit looking down on yourself. Stop comparing yourself to others. Those that lived for Him had their struggles too, but they stuck with God and He helped them conquer.
